We work hard to engage with the communities where our developments are built. One of the ways we engaged with our neighbours at the Maple Park development in Long Stratton was to ask for their help in decorating the hoardings surrounding the site which are health and safety necessity but can be unsightly and boring.
We invited the local school to improve the curb appeal of the site hoardings by designing a fantasy treehouse. Year 7 pupils worked in groups to draw a house for each of the tree’s branches. The designs were then printed onto the hoardings to provide a more attractive view.
Pupils said “We particularly enjoyed being able to use our imaginations to create something that was pure fantasy. The treehouses come in different shapes and sizes with bridges, ropes, platforms and balconies, even a train and a pub are included.”
